HashBrowns And Eggs in a Jar!

This is by FAR everyones favorite! If you only do one meal in a Jar, this is the one to do. It is the tastiest breakfast!!! And its great to take for camp outs or any over night excursions

This truly is scrumptious. Unlike most of the Meals in a Jar, this one is a two step process. On the bottom of the Jar is the hash-brown then at the top we have a sandwich baggy full of the eggs. Don't be fooled by the thought of Freeze Dried Eggs, they really are good.

Recipe for the Hash Browns and Eggs
Hash Browns:
2cups Thrive Diced Potatoes
1 cup Thrive Sausage
tbsp Thrive Butter Powder
1tbsp Thrive Chefs choice Seasoning
Scrambled Eggs:
In a Separate baggy
2/3 cup Thrive Scrambled Egg Powder
2tbsp Thrive Red and Green Peppers
1/3 cup Thrive Shredded Cheddar Cheese
salt and pepper to taste

Like I said before this is a two step process. So when doing this Start putting the Potatoes, Sausage and butter in the Jar first. In a Baggy Add the Scrambled egg mixture; Egg powder, Red and Green Peppers, Cheese, and salt and pepper. Put the bag of Eggs on top in the Jar then the oxygen absorber on top of the that, no there is no need for an oxygen absorber in the bag of eggs. Put the lid on.

To Cook: (Hash Browns)
Open up the Jar, take out the oxygen absorber and the Bag of Eggs
Boil 4 cups of water and add to the potato mixture in a pan. Let stand for 10 minuets to rehydrate. After 10 minuets Turn on Heat and bring to boil. Once its reached a boil uncover, turn down heat and cook until Brown and crispy. The Key is to not over stir your potatoes to avoid mushy potatoes.

While the Hashbrowns are rehydrating add 1/3 cup water to the bag of eggs or you can mix it all in a bowl. Let eggs sit for 10min. After 10 min cook eggs like normal

                              Enjoy.

Making this takes a bit more time than the meals we've done in the past but  Still just as Simple.
Pour Ingredients from Jar into a pot with 5 cups of water and bring to a boil.

Cover and simmer for at least 30 minuets, you can go longer if you desire.

Beef Stew In a Jar

All of my Soup category "Meals In a Jar" take a bit longer than the actual meals, but worth it. What we found though is that we prefer a beef base over the tomato base, however. I think the soups are great thing to have sitting around, because in the colder months who does't occasionally crave a good hearty soup especially when its not in a can ( feeling healthy) :)

Recipe For Beef Soup in A Jar:
Add each ingredient in order. You'll need to shake the jar gently after each ingredient to make everything fit.

1 cup Thrive Instant Red Beans( or 1 cup potatoes, this to me tastes better)
1/2 cup Thrive Tomato Powder (or Thrive Brown Gravy, 1/4 cup. This also I prefer much more)
1/3 cup Thrive Corn
1/3 cup Thrive Diced Carrots
1/3 cup Thrive Peas
1 tbsp of chefs Choice Seasoning
1tsp garlic powder
1/4 cup onions
1 cup Thrive Beef Dices

Assembly: Put all ingredients in order into the Jar. You will have to shake the jar gently to make this all fit especially if your doing the potatoes instead of beans. After everything is in put in the oxygen absorber and put lid on. Check next morning to make sure the Jar sealed ( clicks are no good). Store up to 5 years

Making the Beef Soup:
Remember to Remove the oxygen absorber

Combined 6 cups of water in a stew pot, bring to boil. Reduce Heat and simmer 20-25min.
Serve

Chicken Broccoli Alfredo In a Jar

We have finally come to My Favorite Meal and almost all the people who tried it too!!! Its Creamy goodness that doesn't require me to slave away in the kitchen. And keeps me from going out to eat, because its that good.

Chicken Broccoli Alfredo recipe
1/3 cup Thrive Creamy White Sauce
1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
3 Tbsp Thrive Dry Sour Cream(optional)
1/4 Tsp pepper
1 cup Thrive Boccoli
1 cup Thrive Chicken
1 1/2 cups noodles

Put all ingredients in Quart Jar, add oxygen pac on top then seal. Check the seal the next morning.

Cooking the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo:

Add 4 cups of hot water to sauce pan or electric skillet along with the jar mix.

Let sit 10 min before cooking. This just allows the food to rehydrate

Check tenderness, then serve when done.

This is a great meal to have especially when you would rather go out to eat due to time. This is a Great Dish!!! Better than french fries in more than one way.

Beef Stroganoff In a Jar

Today our Meals in a Jar recipes continue.

These recipes are all tested and tried by those I love, and you know what, we haven't found a recipe we didn't like yet. Of course I will tell you if I tried something and thought it was a disaster, I promise. But so far so good.

Today we are giving you the famous Beef Stroganoff

In all seriousness, Im not a big fan of Stroganoff, at least I wasn't. But this, this is good.

Beef Stroganoff Recipe:
2/3 cup Thrive Creamy White Sauce
2cups egg noodles
1/2 cup Thrive Freeze Dried Mushrooms
1 cup Thrive Beef Chunks
1/4 Thrive Sour Cream (this is separate, do not add to jar!!!) it goes in while cooking

As discussed in an earlier post put the ingredients in there order in a Quart jar, add the oxygen pac, seal the Jar. Check the next morning to make sure it was sealed correctly (clicking noise is not good, get a new oxygen pac and check again the following morning)

To make Beef Stroganoff:

Add 4 cups of water to electric skillet or sauce pan

Mix well. Put a lid on set timer for 20 min, stirring occasionally. While this is cooking make your sour cream mixture. 1/4 cup Thrive Sour Cream and 2 tbsp stirred together.
When 20 min is up check for tenderness. Add Thrive Sour Cream

Serve and Eat

Voila! You are ready to eat a good home cooked meal

Meals in a Jar marathon continues with Bow Tie Spaghetti

Over the course of a a few blog posts we have taught you about Meals in a Jar, what you need and how to assemble and cook them. And now we have finally come to the fun part. . . cooking and eating.
The recipe I have for you today is one of my kids favorites, Bow Tie Spaghetti.
                                                         looks good doesn't it

These are All the ingredients you are going to need:
1/2 cup Tomato Sauce
1/2 tsp chefs choice dry seasoning
1tsp italian seasoning
1/4 cup Thrive Celery
1/4 cup Thrive Chopped Onions
2 Tbsp Thrive Carrot dices
2 Tbsp Thrive Butter powder
1 Tbsp garlic
1 cup Bow tie pasta
1 cup Thrive Ground Beef

Assemble ingredients in the jar one at a time. When all the ingredients have been added put your good oxygen pack in and put the lid on the jar and seal tight. The next morning check to see if the lid clicks. If it clicks you need get a new oxygen pack because that one didn't work. However if there was no clicking then you are good to store. You can store Meals in a Jar for up to 2 years for good quality taste.

Now on to the cooking portion

Add 4 cups of hot water in you pan or electric skillet, the add all contents of the Jar.
Stir to evenly distribute, then put the lid on and cook for 20 min, stirring occasionally. After 20 minuets check to see if everything is cooked properly. If you think the noodles or carrots might need some more cooking add a little more water and cook longer as needed.

In the End you have this really good, nutritious, meal that only took you 20 min.
And yes your family will eat it because its that good.
